WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE SBB-TP PROGRAM?

I chose the SBB-TP program due to its diverse research topics and programmatic flexibility. My keen interest and extensive research experiences in structural biology greatly match the scientific projects conducted in this program.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE SBB-TP PROGRAM?

I picked the SBB-TP because it is a interdepartmental program which focuses on structural biology. This program gives a good chance for students who are interested in biophysics and structural biology.

WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE FACULTY?

Currently, I am doing rotation in Dr. Derek Taylor’s lab. Dr. Taylor’s research focuses on the molecular mechanism of DNA maintenance and RNA maturation and biogenesis by cryo-electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography. In the last several months, I've learned lots of new techniques. It is a very happy experience to work in Dr. Taylor’s lab.

WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER PLANS?

I set my career goal as a biologist very early on. My previous research has provided a strong foundation upon which to build a career in academia, and obtaining a Ph.D. remains the next essential step in that process.
